Description of the works
The Irish Gas Interconnector concerns the Irish Sea crossing between Brighouse Bay (Scotland) and Loughshinny (Ireland) for Bord Gais Eireann.
The project included installation of two landfalls and associated trenching and backfilling works, as well as installation of short lengths of landpipes.
Main activities on this project, executed by means of Cutter Suction Dredger and Backhoe Dredger were:
- Formation of a cliff cut
- Pull ashore of the pipeline
- Trenching and dredging works
- Backfilling of the pre-dredged trench
- Reinstatement works
